In-depth knowledge of Santa Barbara, marketing savvy, dedication to her clients’ discriminating needs and tastes, contagious enthusiasm and a professional support team give Melissa her edge as a Top 10 Agent and Top Producer of the Sotheby’s International Realty office in prestigious Montecito. She has been awarded the esteemed titles every year since 2000.

A longtime Santa Barbara resident, she’s an expert on the character and charms of Santa Barbara’s neighborhoods and adjacent areas, such as the prestigious Riviera, Upper Eastside, Hope Ranch and Montecito.

Prior to her career as a Realtor, Melissa left Santa Barbara briefly to earn her Masters Degree in Education from Pepperdine University. She returned to spend three years as a teacher – inspired by her former elementary school instructor as well as her strong sense of family. Through teaching, Melissa developed the deep commitment to community involvement as well as the versatile communication skills that she brings to her successful real estate career.

Firmly believing that “homes are the important foundation to the people who create and sustain the community,” Melissa is sensitive to the needs of both families and individuals. As a wife and mother, she is well-suited to accommodate clients’ desires to be in neighborhoods specific to their lifestyles. That understanding allows her to bring her impeccable professionalism to transactions ranging from modest condominiums to multimillion dollar estates, while working with a portfolio of both local and international clientele.

Indeed, Melissa’s clients often speak of her strong sense of community and how she eased their move into Santa Barbara or a new neighborhood. In addition, it’s not unusual for her and her clients to be in contact long after escrow closes — whether it’s for assistance with additional property, or with choosing a special restaurant.

Underlying Melissa’s contagious enthusiasm and undeniable appeal as a realtor is her love and appreciation for Santa Barbara. “When I moved away for awhile, I had this feeling that I was searching for the heart of the community I was living in,” she reflects, adding quickly, “I couldn’t find it. Although it was beautiful and the weather was great and the ocean was warm, I felt this longing to come back to Santa Barbara and its sense of place. It’s truly a place with a heart and soul.”
